Application process
1. Declaration of intent: All prospective members must attend an informational meeting during the spring prior to their junior or senior year. The date for the 2026-2027 prospective members' meeting has not yet been determined.
2. Application: After attending the informational meeting, prospective members must fill out an application to join NHS. Your application highlights your GPA, service activities, and extracurriculars.
3. Acceptance: Applicants will receive an invitation to join NHS if their application is accepted. This invitation will be sent at the beginning of the fall semester.
4. Induction: All accepted applicants are required to attend the induction ceremony, which officially makes them a member of NHS.

What to do as a freshman and sophomore
Only rising juniors and seniors may apply to NHS, but there are steps you can take during your freshman and sophomore years to better your chances of being accepted
- Maintain good grades
- All NHS members are required to have a weighted GPA of 4.0 (3.5 unwt.)
- Get involved in service activities in your community
- Prior service is essential for your application to NHS, and you can start now!
